From November 5 to November 8, the 8th collaboration meeting of SPD (Spin Physics Detector) experiment at NICA Accelerator Complex was held in mixed format in the High-Energy Physics Laboratory of JINR. Within the framework of the event the participants discussed the status of preparation to the creation of the experimental facility and also exchanged the experience and ideas for development of collaboration.

During the four days of work of the meeting the participants of SPD collaboration discussed in details the current condition of works on main subsystems of the facility, electronics and software. Particular attention was paid to consideration of physical research program of the first stage of the experiment. More than 200 scientists all over the world took part in the 8th collaboration meeting of SPD experiment. More than 50 participants from the institutes of Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Belarus arrived in Dubna in person. The event program includes more than 70 presentations with reports devoted to present and future studies of spin structure of proton and deuteron in high-luminosity collisions, creation and optimization of experimental facility, and also development of companion software.

Employees of Samara University, members of SPD NICA International Collaboration took part in the meeting. The representatives of Samara University presented the reports: Saleev V. A. – Pair production is a key tool to study TMD PDFs, Shilyayev K. K. – Prompt charmonium production at small pT in the soft gluon resummation approach, Shipilova A. V. – Timeslices simulation status update. Also Saleev V. A. and Master’s Degree student of MSU branch in Dubna Chernyshev Aleksey presented the report at the meeting – Direct photon production in the PRA: from high to low energy.
